H. Beer (Captain) (4) Honiton beat Brixham Reserves 21-7 to win the Devon Rugby Junior Cup 1927-28. On the history of Rugby Football in Devon, S. F. Carnell wrote "The club (Honiton) had a long association with Allhallows School, which provided it with many good players. Most notable were ......W. E. Sprake who with C. H. Beer played for Exeter and Devon."
